Report and recommandations of RESOLAB third annual coordination meeting
Jointly organized by FAO and USDA / APHIS, through the Regional Animal Health Center of Bamako, the third annual coordination meeting of the RESOLAB, held in Bamako from November 30 to December 4, 2009 recorded the participation of laboratory directors and head of virology laboratories of the 23 Network member countries and partner agencies such as OIE, AU/ IBAR, France Vétérinaire International, USAID, University of Georgia, Ecole Inter Etats de Sciences et Médecine Vétérinaires of Dakar, Pasteur Institute of Dakar, CIRAD and IZSVe of Padova. Participants in this workshop took stock of laboratories RESOLAB and devised on how to achieve the network sustainability by addressing critical issues related to its structure, institutional arrangements, management, ownership by States and anchorage to regional organizations technical program and by defining and adopting a realistic roadmap and clear for its future.
After 5 days of meeting populated with high-level scientific lectures and rich and intense debates in plenary sessions and groups work, the participants reached important conclusions and decisive consensus for the future of RESOLAB and for more care and consideration for laboratory activities by the authorities of RESOLAB member countries.
