RESOLAB Fifth Annual Coordination Meeting
FAO ECTAD Bamako and USDA/APHIS.IS, within the framework of the Regional Animal Health Center of Bamako, are pleased to announce the fifth annual coordination meeting of the Western and Central Africa Veterinary Laboratory Network for Avian Influenza and other transboundary animal diseases (RESOLAB) from 12 to 16 December 2011 at the Central Veterinary Laboratory of Bamako.
This meeting aims to:
Review and discuss the RESOLAB coordination activities in 2011
Receive updates on the 23 national laboratories and their activities
Review and discuss on the two regional laboratories (LNERV-Dakar and NVRI-Vom ) activities
Discuss subnetworks on rabies, PPR, FMD and Quality system activities and other projects or initiatives involving member laboratories of and of other existing regional networks,
Discuss transboundary animal diseases situation in the region
Review and discuss progress made in the network sustainability
Lessons learnt from 2011 regional workshops
Receive updates on the Quality assurance system roadmap
Review the 2011 interlaboratories proficiency tests results and discuss on difficulties met
Discuss on RESOLAB laboratories mapping exercise
Receive updates from other networks (Eastern Africa, Southern Africa, EU-FMD), technical partners (APHIS.IS, CIRAD, FVI, IZSVE, VWB - USA etc and map out ways to further strengthen relationship,
Prepare the outlines of RESOLAB work plan for the next year.
The network National Veterinary laboratories will receive their official invitation through FAO Representation Offices. Invited organizations, partners and guests will receive their invitation directly from the RESOLAB coordination (FAO-ECTAD).
