RESEPI WORKSHOP
A Regional Network of National Epidemiosurveillance Systems (RESEPI), as recommended during the several last crossborder meetings, could be the best tool to enhance efficient national surveillance of transboundary animal diseases such as Avian Influenza and to identify regional control programme for priority diseases.
In order to validate and settle the activities and “modus operandi“ of the RESEPI, a four and a half day workshop has been organized by the FAO ECTAD regional unit at the RAHC in Bamako, together with national and regional partners.
The RESEPI workshop allowed:
a clear overlook on the current situation,
the definition of three groups according to the identified gaps and needs,
the introduction to the networking tools,
the validation of a work plan.
The workshop took place jointly with the RESOLAB annual meeting and a joint session was organized on 3rd december for presentation of common interest and to define relationship between the two networks. The venue for the working group session was the newly launched "BADA Lodge" along the river Niger: Highly appreciated!
